Mozilla has decided from Firefox 22 onwards that browser will not allow third-party cookies to be installed on users computer if they’ve not visited that site. If you don’t want to allow third-party cookies in browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers by default here is how to do it.
Let me brief you about third-party cookies with an example: when you visit a blog that has share buttons placed below post, these buttons can track you by installing cookies on your computer which Facebook and Twitter can read, these are called third-party cookies. Here you’ve not visited these sites directly.
Blocking Third-party cookies in Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer
I. For Google Chrome
1. From menu select Settings scroll down to bottom and click on “Show Advanced Settings”
2. Click on “Content Settings” and under “Cookies” section select “block third-party cookies and site data”
3. Click on” Done” button to save the changes.
II. For Firefox browser
1. Firefox button>Options>Options>select Privacy tab
2. For history from drop down select “Use custom settings for history”
3. Uncheck for “Accept third-party cookies”
4. Click on “OK” button to save the changes.
III. In Internet Explorer
1 .Open Internet Options window
2. Click on Privacy tab, select “override automatic cookie handling”
3. And under third-party cookies select “Block” radio button and click OK to save the changes to the browser.
Caution: disabling third-party cookies may affects your interaction with those sites, if something goes wrong we recommend you to undo the changes made to browsers for third-party cookies.
